TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports
The Houston Dynamo are looking south — way south — to reinforce their back line this summer, according to multiple media reports.
El Grafico and other outlets in Chile are reporting that La Naranja are close to completing a transfer deal with Huachipato, a club in that nation's top flight, to acquire Jose Bizama.
A 25-year-old capable of playing fullback, center back or central midfielder, Bizama has been a mainstay for Los Acereros (The Steelers) in recent years, with more than 100 appearances for the club. His play has also earned the attention of Chilean national team manager Reinaldo Rueda, who called up Bizama and handed him a handful of caps last year.
If the move comes to fruition, Bizama would add to the Dynamo's already-large Latin American contingent, with a dozen players from Central and South America on the books in Houston.
