The San Jose Earthquakes have acquired Mexican winger Carlos Fierro from Cruz Azul for an undisclosed fee, the club announced Tuesday. The deal was completed with Targeted Allocation Money. He spent 2018/19 on loan with Morelia.
Fierro, 24, played under Quakes head coach Matias Almeyda when the pair were at Chivas de Guadalajara, winning the 2015 Copa MX and the 2017 Clausura Liga MX title. The winger had his best form with Chivas, scoring 17 goals and adding 17 assists in 185 appearances.

Heās a player that I can use in various positions. I thank the club and the effort they made to be able to buy him. Hopefully he does a great job, which is what everyone hopes for.ā
Fierro starred for Mexico at the 2011 U-17 World Cup, where Mexico won the tournament on home soil. He scored four goals and finished third in the Golden Ball award for the tournament's best player.

He'll be eligible for his club debut on July 12 against the LA Galaxy after the Secondary Transfer Window opens.
