Former FC Dallas winger Fabian Castillo joins Xolos of Liga MX

Former FC Dallas winger Fabian Castillo is back in North America.

After a two-year stint in Turkey, Castillo has signed a contract with Xolos of Tijuana in Liga MX, the club announced Wednesday.

Castillo didn't exactly depart Dallas on good terms, leaving the club without permission to join Trabzonspor before the two clubs ultimately agreed upon a loan-to-buy transfer agreement.

The Colombian made 48 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish side, but had fallen out of favor during his second season.

Castillo joined Dallas as an 18-year-old in 2011, and scored 34 goals and added 30 assists over 159 MLS appearances.

He played a role in the club's run to the 2016 U.S. Open Cup and Supporters' Shield titles, though he had departed for Turkey before Dallas had clinched either.
