TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
It’s been rumored that Inter are the most likely destination for Giovinco should he return to his native Italy, but his representative, Andrea D’Amico, says his client is content staying in Toronto.
“I’d see it going badly for him at Inter, but only because he’s very well where he is now,” D’Amico told Italian radio station Tutti Convocati. “He’s made a sporting choice and a life choice, and he’s happy.”
Giovinco, 30, helped Toronto to their historic treble last season, recording 16 goals and six assists in 25 regular-season appearances and earning a spot on the 2017 MLS Best XI. Since signing with Toronto in January 2015, Giovinco has 55 goals and 37 assists in 86 regular-season matches.
