San Jose Earthquakes release new secondary jersey for 2016

On Tuesday, Jan. 26, the San Jose Earthquakes dropped a big reveal. After four years without a jersey sponsor, they’ve inked a deal with Sutter Health, sporting their logo on their uniforms for the 2016 season.

But on Wednesday night, the team revealed a bold, graphic look for its new secondary jersey. Like a proper away jersey, it's mostly white-and-red-accented design stands in visual contrast from the home jersey.

The vertical bar on the front features a new fracture design:

The crest is embroidered:

The neck tape features the words “Unity, Devotion, Heritage” on the inside:

The new Quakes word mark on the outside:

The jock tag, meanwhile, celebrates the year the club was born:

The Quakes first wore their new away kit in a friendly at home against their U18 academy on Wednesday night. But the first time they’ll wear it in the regular season is in their away game on Mar. 19 against the LA Galaxy (10:30 p.m. ET, MLS Live.)
