Portland's Rodney Wallace

Report: Portland Timbers continuing negotiations with Rodney Wallace, Norberto Paparatto

If the Portland Timbers have their way, two more pieces of their MLS Cup-winning roster will be back with the club this year.

OregonLive.com reported on Monday that the Timbers are still negotiating new deals with Rodney Wallace and Norberto Paparatto. Wallace and Paparatto are currently not under contract with the Timbers. Wallace saw his deal with Portland expire at the end of 2015, and Paparatto had his option declined.

However, the champs may not be able to bring both players back. The club is reportedly hopeful of coming to terms on a new contract with the 27-year-old Wallace (pictured above), but the report claims it is less likely that Paparatto, 32, will be agreeing to a deal.

Wallace and Paparatto contributed to the Timbers' first MLS Cup title in 2015. The Costa Rican winger was a regular starter for Portland and scored in the MLS Cup Final win over Columbus Crew SC, while the Argentine center back served primarily as a reserve behind Nat Borchers and Liam Ridgewell.
