We here at The Sideline have a healthy appreciation for Frankie Hejduk and his exploits on and off the field.
The man is not overly concerned with much beyond the next adventure is life. He's so carefree that he "Throwback Thursdays" on a Wednesday.
He's Frankie; why should he care?
And guess what: Frankie's birthday is coming up very soon — August 5 — and he'll finally be the big 4-0.
So who's throwing Frankie the big birthday beach bash that's befitting of such a US national team and Major League Soccer legend?
That would be the Columbus Crew, the club for which Frankie made over 150 appearances in all competitions and currently represents as a "brand ambassador."
This Saturday, from 3:30-11 pm, is your chance to party with Frankie — provided you're 21 years of age or over — and celebrate Hey-Dude's 40th birthday. The evening will also feature an exclusive watch party when the Crew take on the Chicago Fire (8:30 ET, MLS LIVE).
There will also be a special Frankie Cup 3v3 Soccer Tournament — cash prizes at stake and all — during the late afternoon portion of the party. No doubt, this was Frankie's idea.
