Sporting Kansas City will be without one of their main men for the remainder of MLS Cup after Oriol Rosell was forced to leave the game in the eighth minute with a sprained left ankle.
Rosell went down in the fifth minute after RSL's Robbie Findley accidentally stepped on his foot trying to go past the Spaniard in the fifth. Rosell, who recorded a goal and two assists in 31 appearences in 2013, was replaced by Lawrence Olum after a brief stoppage for treatment.
It is the earliest substitution in MLS Cup history.
