On Monday, the Chicago Fire sent forward Dominic Oduro to the Columbus Crew for midfielder Dilly Duka and the right of first refusal on the possible future signing of midfielder Robbie Rogers.
That, of course, got us chatting and sparked another example of what we like to call internally: The Big Debate. (It's better when you say it with a deep, James Earl Jones-type voice.)

It's flash vs. substance. Duka and Rogers may have greater name recognition than the oft-maligned Oduro, but the Ghanaian's production is better. Duka and Rogers have 18 goals and 19 assists in 161 combined matches. Oduro, who has proven more durable, has 18 goals in his last 66 matches alone. |
<p>The upside is all Chicago’s. They receive a creative midfielder in Duka who hasn’t reached potential while being played out of position, and Rogers (potentially) adds more depth to a talented group. Columbus get a speed option off the bench — who was already unhappy with that role in Chicago.</p> |
