Goal of the Matchday

Neagle's curler vs. San Jose wins AT&T Goal of the Week

Lamar Neagle celebrates Montreal's win over San Jose

Major League Soccer's newest club hasn't won any titles yet, but this month the Montreal Impact have built an impressive dynasty when it comes to the AT&T Goal of the Week.

Lamar Neagle's tidy finish against the San Jose Earthquakes has garnered top honors for Week 24, marking the third straight week an Impact player has earned the award.

As Neagle himself pointed out yesterday, his teammate Patrice Bernier played an equally integral role in the strike, using deft footwork to bamboozle the Earthquakes defense and create an opening for the young midfielder. The former Sounders man still had plenty of work to do, however, curling a one-touch drive past goalkeeper Jon Busch with a perfect blend of power and accuracy.

The goal would turn out to be the game winner as Montreal upset the league-leading Quakes 3-1.

The AT&T Goal of the Week winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and via text message.
