WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United announced Tuesday the signing of Nana Kwame Kuffour. Per League and team policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed. Kuffour, originally from Agogo, Ghana, will take a place in United's developmental roster and will be available for selection in tomorrow night's international friendly against Nottingham Forest. Kick-off for the game is set for 7:30 p.m., following a preliminary exhibition featuring the Washington Freedom and the Nottingham Forest Ladies Football Club.

"We are excited to finally be able to announce the completion of all requirements to officially add Nana to our roster," said Dave Kasper, United technical director. "He is an exciting young player with gifted ability, explosive pace and we look forward his future with our team."

Kuffour has been a member of the Ghanaian youth development program since 2002, making several appearances for Ghana's U-17 national team. In 2002, he was also a member of the Apam Secondary School side that captured third place in the VALCO Senior Secondary Schools Tournament, a prestigious national competition in Ghana.

United also announced Tuesday that the club has acquired Colorado's highest second round selection in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for the rights to a discovery selection.
