Vines, who became the seventh Development Academy player to sign a first-team contract with the Rapids, is a talented young defender who emerged as a regular starter at left back in his second season as a professional with 23 starts in 26 appearances.  

INTERNATIONAL: The 20-year-old was called into Gregg Berhalter's January US men's national team camp and earned his first senior national team cap, starting in a 1-0 win over Costa Rica Feb. 1. He previously earned call-ups to the U-14, U-15, U-16, U-18 and U-20 United States Youth National Teams

OUTSIDE MLS: Appeared in 29 games on loan for the Charlotte Independence of the USL, 25 from the start, logging 2,303 minutes

ACADEMY: Vines joined the club in 2013 as a 13-year-old. A versatile, intelligent defender, he was selected to the National Development Academy Best XI as one of the top young players in the country in 2017.
