MLS Disciplinary Committee fines Jhohan Romana, DeJuan Jones red card upheld
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has fined one player after Week 1 of the 2021 regular season. Additionally, the Independent Review Panel has upheld a red card decision.

The Guarani-Austin pipeline continues with Romana, a 22-year-old center back with extensive experience already. He has 30 professional appearances, including 12 in the Copa Libertadores, after spending 2016-18 with Colombian giant Independiente Medellín.
OUTSIDE MLS: Romaña joins Austin FC after making 31 appearances with Paraguay Primera División side Club Guaraní. Romaña played 12 matches (11 starts) in the 2020 CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, scoring one (1) goal in group stage play during a 3-1 away win against Club Atlético Tigre from Argentina in October 2020. Prior to joining Guaraní, the Apartadó, Colombia, native spent the 2016-18 seasons with six-time Colombian Champions Independiente Medellín, making two (2) appearances (two (2) starts) across all competitions and helping Independiente Medellín win the 2016 Torneo Apertura.
