RSL Looks for Two in a Row against Western Foes when Houston Dynamo Visit Saturday
Real Salt Lake (7-8-5, 26 pts.) will look to register back-to-back wins against fellow Western Conference opponents for the first time in 2009 this Saturday, August 15, when the Utah side will play host to the conference-leading Houston Dynamo (11-6-5, 38 pts.) at Rio Tinto Stadium. Saturday's 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff in Sandy, presented by Budweiser, will serve as the nationally-televised Fox Soccer Channel Game of the Week, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also follow the action live via RSL's official radio partners - KALL 700 Sports (coverage beginning with the America First Credit Union Pre-Match Report at 6:00 p.m.) and "Ke Buena" 1600-AM.
Saturday's contest will mark the lone Utah visit of the 2009 season by the Dynamo and the middle of this year's three-game set between RSL and Houston. Real Salt Lake nearly took the full three points from the opening match-up at Robertson Stadium back on June 20, as FW Fabian Espindola's 28th minute tally stood for an hour before Dynamo FW Brian Ching's 89th minute equalizer forced a 1-1 draw. While that result brought Real Salt Lake's career record against the two-time MLS Cup champs to 2-5-3, RSL controls the series ledger in Utah by a 2-1-2 margin, with all five of those contests taking place at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The two sides are due to complete their 2009 season series back in the Lone Star State on Sept. 19.

DF David Horst Renews Loan Stint with USL-1's Austin Aztex
Real Salt Lake DF David Horst will renew his loan deal with the USL First Division's Austin Aztex when the squad returns to play this Sunday, August 16, against the Minnesota Thunder. The 23-year-old defender, who will depart Utah on Friday, was originally dispatched to Austin for the remainder of its USL-1 campaign back on July 21, only to be recalled by his MLS side four days later following an injury to D/M Robbie Russell. Horst has played in three games on loan stints with the Aztex earlier this season, going the full 90 minutes in home contests on June 19 v. Carolina (1-1 T), June 21 v. Rochester (0-2 L) and July 25 v. Montreal (2-2 T).
Tickets Going Fast for Sept. 5 USA-El Salvador World Cup Qualifier at Rio Tinto Stadium
Tickets for the highly-anticipated U.S. Men's National Team's FIFA World Cup qualifier against El Salvador on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Real Salt Lake's home of Rio Tinto Stadium are now on sale and can be purchased through ussoccer.com, by phone at 801-727-2700 (Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office (open Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). More than three-quarters of the seats for the match have already been spoken for, and with the North Goal, South Goal and Corner Kick sections all sold out, tickets are now available beginning at $62 (East and West Sideline sections).
The U.S. will be making its first trip to Rio Tinto Stadium and will return to the Beehive State for the first time in four years since a dominating 3-0 victory against Costa Rica in front of a raucous crowd of 40,586 at Rice-Eccles Stadium on June 4, 2005. Heading into tomorrow's massive contest at Mexico, the United States (3-1-1, 10 pts.) currently sits in second place on CONCACAF's six-team table halfway through the final round of World Cup Qualifying, two points behind leader Costa Rica, while El Salvador is within striking distance of the all-important top three, its 1-2-2 (5 pts.) mark putting "La Selecta" in fifth place.
