MLS Insider — which airs each Friday on NBC Sports Network and TSN at 7:30 pm ET and 2 pm ET, respectively — absolutely brought it this week with unprecedented behind-the-scenes access inside the Seattle Sounders' efforts to sign and unveil their newest Designated Player Clint Dempsey.
Insider cameras were the proverbial "fly on the wall" inside Sounders marketing and communications meetings, Dempsey's chats with owner Joe Roth and head coach Sigi Schmid, the US national team captain's post on-air chat with former US national team goalkeeper Kasey Keller and his debut the following week in Toronto.
Kudos to Insider director Jonathan Hock for realizing the magnitude of the Dempsey signing for the league, and quickly putting together the task force to embed themselves inside the Sounders organization for a week to provide a insider look into one of the biggest signings in Major League Soccer history.
