Storm forces postponement of DC United-Real Salt Lake match at RFK

Flooded RFK Stadium on August 12, 2017

Paul Arriola made his debut with D.C. United on Saturday night against Real Salt Lake, but his shift -- and the whole match -- lasted just under 28 minutes before a heavy rainstorm forced players off the pitch.

They never went back out, as flooding at RFK Stadium postponed the match for the night. It will resume at 7 pm ET on Sunday, from the point when it ended, at the 28:29 mark (MLS LIVE).

Originally, the line of storms was supposed to pass through quickly and allow the match to resume -- but as the following images show, that didn't happen. Even if the field would have drained enough to be playable ... well, check out the water flooding into the lower reaches of the stadium.
