U20s:

The Red Bull U20s have not begun their season.

U18s: The U18s defeated U18 Baltimore Bays, 5-1, on Saturday, May 9, in US Soccer Development Academy action. Walter Hines (Brooklyn, NY) opened the scoring in the ninth minute from a pass from Dylan Mencia (Honesdale, PA). However, Baltimore drew even in the 15th minute from an own goal that was deflected from a corner kick. The Red Bulls restored their lead on two Giorgi Chirgadze (Brooklyn, NY) goals. In the 24th minute, Chirgadze scored from a Cesar Blacido (Ramsey, NJ) pass, and in the 43rd minute Chirgadze knocked in the rebound after his header hit off the crossbar.

"We were able to be more dangerous in the attack today," stated U18 head coach Paul O'Donnell. "Giorgi is finally regaining some match fitness and getting sharper (after a three month layoff due to surgery). We had some really good combinations in the first half."

In the second half, the Red Bulls extended their lead. In the 88th minute, Hines scored from a Hennie Bosman (Millburn, NJ) cross and in the 89th minute Nick Gendron (Ramsey, NJ) finished neatly after a good run on the left flank when he received a pass from Tevin Jackson (Jersey City, NJ).

U16s: In US Soccer Development Academy action, the U16 Red Bulls blanked the U16 Baltimore Bays, 3-0, on Saturday, May 9. Sam Adjei (Newark, NJ) got the Red Bulls going early, finishing off a Mike Innocenzi (Franklin Lakes, NJ) cross in the 17th minute. In the 54th minute, Kemal Can Gurel (Staten Island, NY) scored a beautiful free-kick from 30 yards out to double the lead. Jon Gonzalez (Bloomfield, NJ) finished the game off in the 80th minute on a pass from James Raytsin (Short Hills, NJ). Travis Ives (Bridgewater, NJ) went the distance in goal to earn the clean sheet.

"Today was a solid effort from our guys," said U16 head coach Rob Elliott. "It is not easy to travel a few hours, jump out of the bus, and play a game against a good team. Our guys handled it well and got a well deserved result."

The U16 NY RedBulls record now stands at 16-2-5 for the season.
