There's plenty of international soccer this summer, and it's not all Concacaf Gold Cup and the U-20 World Cup.
In fact, two more international competitive tournaments are taking place, the Copa América (June 14-July 7), between South American countries and hosted in Brazil, and the Africa Cup of Nations (June 21-July 19), being hosted in Egypt in the summer after previously taking place in January.
Alongside that, there are international games taking place in Europe and Asia, and MLS players are involved in all of those continents. In total, 28 players have been called up outside of the Gold Cup and U-20 World Cup. A record 11 current MLS players have been called up for the 2019 Copa America, while 14 players have been called up for Euro 2020 qualifiers.
In addition, four MLS players have been called up to the provisional squads for the Africa Cup of Nations, while four MLS players from four countries could see action for their Asian national teams. Among them is Houston Dynamo defender A.J. DeLaGarza, who took part in one of the very first qualification games for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and went the full 90 as his Guam team fell 1-0 at Bhutan in the first leg of their home-and-away series.
From MLS teams, the Seattle Sounders have the most call-ups from around the world, with two headed to the Copa América, one to Euro 2020 qualifiers and another to a friendly, and that's not to mention their two-man contingent headed to the Concacaf Gold Cup. Sporting KC have four players involved in action in Europe as well.
