2. Houston Dynamo to battle Gamba Osaka in the Pan-Pacific Championship Final
Gamba Osaka booked their place in the final of the Pan-Pacific Championship with a 1-0 victory against the Los Angeles Galaxy. A goal in the third minute from Brazilian striker Bare was the only score of the game and gave the J.League side the distinction of winning the tournament's first ever match.
In the second PPC semifinal match, Houston Dynamo defeated Sydney FC 3-0. All of the goals came in the first half and were courtesy of Dwayne De Rosario, Stuart Holden and Chris Wondolowski. The two teams now face off on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu starting at 6:00 p.m local Hawaii time.
3. Brian Ching honored by Hawaii legislature
Hometown legend Brian Ching was honored by both houses of the Hawaii Legislature earlier today, prior to the start of the Pan-Pacific Championship. Upon his return to Honolulu, Ching was presented a proclamation from the Hawaii State Senate. The proclamation was presented by State Senator Robert Bunda.
4. Ching to sign autographs on Friday
Houston Dynamo forward and Haleiwa native Brian Ching will get up close and personal with fans this Friday at Circuit City in Aiea between 3:00 and 4:00 PM. Please see below for information regarding the event.
