MLS fines Orlando City SC and head coach Adrian Heath for violating league tampering policy

Adrian Heath, Orlando City

Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber on Friday fined Orlando City SC head coach Adrian Heath an undisclosed amount for violating the league’s tampering policy.

On June 9, Heath publically expressed interest in Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer on an Orlando radio show, saying, “There is no secret that Dom wants to be here. We have tried to bring him here. We have done everything we can. Unfortunately we can’t do it yet. But we will keep trying.”

Heath's comments drew the ire of Sporting Kansas City head coach Peter Vermes, who called them "uncalled for" and "unprofessional." Heath apologized for the comments on Friday.

In addition to Heath, Orlando City have been fined an undisclosed amount for violating the tampering policy.
