FC Cincinnati — which has built its reputation on large, enthusiastic crowds heading into its debut MLS season next year — is aiming for 20,000 in season ticket sales when it opens play in 2019. According to a Tuesday article in the Enquirer, the team's front office feels it can get there.

The article notes that FC Cincinnati, gearing up for its last home match as a USL side this Saturday, already has more than 14,000 season tickets sold for Nippert Stadium. The front office is looking for the 20k target mark to anchor what could be a home crowd averaging close to 30,000.

"That would absolutely put us into an upper-tier category in (MLS), and that's always been the ultimate goal," Jeff Smith, the team's vice president of ticket sales and services, told the Enquirer. "We're thrilled with where we are today, and ultimately 20,000-plus is our season-ticket goal, and 28,000 is going to be our game-to-game goal."
