Roughly 18 months after signing with LAFC during the 2018 summer transfer window, forward Josh Perez and the defending MLS Supporters’ Shield winners have mutually agreed to part ways.

Perez, 22, appeared in 15 MLS matches (four starts) and recorded one goal and one assist during his spell with the Black & Gold. Born in greater Los Angeles, Perez also appeared in one U.S. Open Cup match for LAFC.

Before heading to LAFC, Perez was at Italian side Fiorentina and made his Serie A debut during a November 2016 match against Inter Milan. Perez is the nephew of former US men’s national team player Hugo Perez and also spent a season on loan at Italian side Livorno, where he recorded three assists in 25 Serie C matches.

Perez came through the Chivas USA academy system before heading to Fiorentina, and also was a member of the US U-17 national team at the 2015 U-17 FIFA World Cup. He's appeared at the U-23 national team level, too.

Largely a depth piece, serious first-team minutes were difficult for Perez to obtain with Carlos Vela, Brian Rodriguez, Diego Rossi and Adama Diomande instead leading the final-third charge. Ahead of LAFC's Concacaf Champions League debut Feb. 18 at Club Leon, here's how their roster stands:
