Gio Reyna scores amazing golazo for Borussia Dortmund

Gio Reyna

NYCFC academy product Gio Reyna couldn't have scored his first goal for Borussia Dortmund in much more stunning fashion.

Reyna, a 17-year-old US men's national team prospect and the son of USMNT legend Claudio Reyna, lashed home this amazing finish in just his third appearance for Dortmund's senior side, uncorking an utterly majestic curling strike to the top corner in the 78th minute of an eventual 3-2 defeat to Werder Bremen in German Cup play on Tuesday.

It doesn't get much prettier than that. The future certainly looks bright for a player who was already considered one of his country's best young prospects.

Reyna, who joined Dortmund from NYCFC's academy last January, wasn't the only US international making waves overseas on Tuesday. Derby County midfielder Duane Holmes also continued his strong recent run of form, netting his team's second goal of the day in a 4-2 victory in FA Cup play over Northampton.
