New England Revolution sign veteran left back Seth Sinovic

Seth Sinovic - Sporting Kansas City - 2017

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

The New England Revolution reunion tour continued Tuesday.

The Revs announced the signing of free agent defender Seth Sinovic, who was selected by New England in the second round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft and played one season there before a nine-year stint with Sporting Kansas City.

The Sinovic signing follows Kelyn Roweā€™s return to Foxborough earlier this month. That puts the Revs at limit of two MLS free agent signings.

ā€œSeth brings a wealth of experience in MLS and a winning pedigree to our roster,ā€ Revolution sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena said in a statement. ā€œWe are excited to welcome Seth back to New England and are eager to begin working with him in January.ā€

The 32-year-old Sinovic, whose option was declined by SKC following the 2019 season, helped Sporting KC win four major trophies ā€” three U.S. Open Cup (2012, 2015, 2017) and one MLS Cup (2013) since joining his hometown team in May, 2011.

He rebounded from a pair of difficult seasons in 2015 and 2016, to again be a regular starter the last three years.

In Sinovicā€™s rookie season with the Revs, he started 18 of 20 appearances in 2010.
