The 2019 MLS Cup between the Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC on Sunday (3 pm ET | ABC, Univision, TUDN, TSN, TVAS) could be a wet one. But probably not disruptively so.

While weather forecasts can change considerably over the course of a week, the preliminary one for Seattle is showing a chance of showers with temperatures in the 50s for the lunchtime local kickoff.

Currently, the chance of rain is 40 percent, according to Weather.com

While precipitation could make the turf at CenturyLink field more slick, even with rain the elements may not be as noticeable as they were in the two previous MLS Cups played between these sides.

Temperatures were below freezing for the teams' 2016 MLS Cup encounter, which began at 8 pm local time in Toronto and persisted well into the evening before Seattle took the title on penalties.

The following year, a 4 pm local kick at BMO Field was only slightly milder, with temps just above the freezing mark at the start of Toronto's 2-0 win.
