MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Galaxy's Efrain Alvarez additional game

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended and fined one player following Week 21 of the 2019 MLS regular season and fined another player for action from Week 22.

The Disciplinary Committee has fined Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis an undisclosed amount after being found guilty of simulation/embellishment. The incident occurred in the 29th minute of the Aug. 3 game against the Chicago Fire.


Alvarez violent conduct, failure to leave the field in a timely manner

The Disciplinary Committee has suspended LA Galaxy midfielder Efrain Alvarez one additional game and fined him an undisclosed amount for violent conduct in the 84th minute of the July 27 game against the Portland Timbers. Alvarez, who was assessed a red card on the play, has served a one game suspension already but will be suspended the Aug. 11 game against D.C. United.

The Disciplinary Committee has issued Alvarez an additional undisclosed fine for failing to leave the field in a timely manner after receiving his red card in the match on July 27.
