After snapping their only losing streak of the 2019 season, New York City FC return to Yankee Stadium where they hope to start a new home winning streak when they face a Sporting Kansas City side desperate for points to keep their playoff hopes alive.
NYCFC (8-3-8) bounced back from consecutive league losses and an early deficit to defeat the 10-man Colorado Rapids, 2-1, at Dick's Sporting Goods Park Saturday night. The Cityzens trailed after six minutes on a goal by 16-year-old Sebastian Anderson set up by former NYCFC winger Jonathan Lewis.
After back-to-back wins, Sporting Kansas City (6-8-7) suffered a crushing 2-0 loss to FC Dallas at Children's Mercy Park Saturday night. Sporting were punished for a pair of defensive miscues as Dominique Badji and Jesus Ferreira scored a goal in each half for the visitors.
