Straight off an emotional win over Atlanta United, the New York Red Bulls look for their fifth win in six games when the Vancouver Whitecaps come to Red Bull Arena for a midweek clash.
The Red Bulls (5-5-2) were reduced to 10 men when Tim Parker was sent off in the 35th minute and were already down key starters with Bradley Wright-Phillips and Aaron Long injured, yet they still found a way to beat the defending MLS Cup champions last Sunday. Tom Barlow came off the bench to score his first MLS goal, latching onto a sublime Danny Royer service and heading back across goal.
The Whitecaps (3-6-4) have picked up points in four of their last five games and are coming off a 1-1 draw at Sporting Kansas City. After falling behind on a first-half goal by Krisztian Nemeth, who was later sent off for a high tackle on Felipe, Vancouver found the late equalizer on a 94th-minute volley by second-half substitute Derek Cornelius.
