The Tale of the Cascadia Cup: As told throughout history

When it comes to the Cascadia Cup, its soccer history are stories oft-told.

We remember when it was created in 2004, by the supporters of Seattle Sounders, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps and we remember its MLS era, starting in 2011. In that MLS era, the cup has been hotly contested. The Whitecaps hold the edge with three, but both the Sounders and Timbers have two.

But what about the time before 2004? Well, let's allow the Timbers digital staff tell you that tale.

Heading into Sunday night's Seattle-Portland match (Sunday 9:30pm ET | FS1 – full TV & streaming info), the three sides each have a win and a loss in 2018's iteration of the Cascadia Cup. The Timbers are the current holders.
