Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron subbed off injured vs. Montreal

Influential Atlanta United FC midfielder Miguel Almiron left Sunday’s match against the Montreal Impact after just 17 minutes with an apparent hamstring injury.

Almiron felt his hamstring when challenging Deian Boldor for a loose ball by the end line. Moments later, the Paraguayan international walked off the field to be replaced by Julian Gressel. Almiron was visibly upset on the bench afterward.

Almiron has started each of Atlanta United’s four matches since Sept. 10, including 79 minutes in a 4-0 home win over the LA Galaxy on Wednesday after going the entire 90 minutes in a 3-3 draw with Orlando City SC four days earlier.

There’s been no official word from Atlanta yet regarding Almiron’s injury.
