Orlando City SC lose midfielder Will Johnson for 2-4 weeks

Orlando City SC ended Saturday night's match with only point against Columbus Crew SC, as the two teams drew 1-1 at Orlando City Stadium, and the news did not get better on Sunday.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that midfielder Will Johnson will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a lateral ankle sprain. Johnson left Saturday night's match in the 32nd minute and was replaced by Cristian Higuita.

Johnson has started all but two of Orlando's MLS matches this year after signing with the team prior to the season. After a couple of matches at right back, the 30-year-old has been a fixture in the center of midfield for Jason Kreis' team.

The good news for Orlando: They signed center midfielder Yoshimar Yotun on Aug. 4, and he should be a fixture in the starting XI for the rest of the season. With Johnson's injury, Orlando fans should expect to see more of Higuita with Servando Carrasco and the newly-acquired Dillon Powers also possibilities to receive starts with Johnson out.

The Lions play host to the Vancouver Whitecaps next week before visiting the New England Revolution on Sept. 2. After Saturday night's draw, FiveThirtyEight.com places Orlando's probability of making the playoffs at just 6 percent. Without the services of one of their stalwarts, that number could keep inching closer to zero.
