Atlanta United tied two MLS records in match vs. Chicago Fire

Atlanta United's 4-0 home drubbing of the Chicago Fire on Saturday night meant not only that the expansion side bagged their first home win, but also that they tied (already!) for two MLS all-time records.

With their 11 goals so far, Atlanta have become just the second MLS team to manage that in the first three matches of a season. That's reason to get excited, for sure.... But just to temper that a bit, guess who else previously set the record? The Houston Dynamo, just last year. (They went on to finish last in the West, so again, celebrate, but it's about consistency across a season, etc., etc.)

Potentially more exciting for a hype train? Josef Martinez's brace means he's scored five goals in his first three league games. The previous record-holder? None other than Carlos "Pescadito" Ruiz, who managed that feat between Mar. 23 and Apr. 13, 2002. Choo-choo!
