Save of the Week Winners

Orlando City's Joe Bendik wins fourth straight MLS Save of the Week award

Orlando City goalkeeper Joe Bendik cruised to his fourth straight MLS Save of the Week presented by Phillips 66 Lubricants award in Week 22, crushing Montreal Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush in the final by a 93-7 percent margin to win his ninth Save of the Week of the season.

Bendik won the award for a kick save on Seattle’s Jordan Morris in the 44th minute of Orlando’s 3-1 loss to the Sounders on Sunday. Morris ran onto a through ball on the left wing and embarked on a long solo run, cutting in on his right foot and hitting a low shot that Bendik flexibly kept up to temporarily prevent Seattle from extending their lead to 3-1.

Bendik eased through the bracket, topping Real Salt Lake’s Nick Rimando by a 72-28 margin in the first round and smashing Portland’s Jake Gleeson by collecting 91 percent of the vote in the semifinals before beating Bush in the final.
