He's a local kid from Long Island who had to earn his place on the roster via an extended trial during preseason, after coming home from his long, wandering stint in England's lower divisions.


But if any of that gives you the idea that Mike Grella is a basic “lunchpail”-type guy on the field, the New York Red Bulls attacker's substantial – and growing – collection of spectacular plays should set you straight very quickly.
