Save of the Week: New York Red Bulls' Luis Robles tops for Week 17

Luis Robles, New York Red Bulls (Oct. 20, 2012)

Not many goalkeepers in Major League Soccer have found a way to stop Jack McInerney this season, but Luis Robles certainly had his moment in the sun last weekend.

And his last-gasp kick save on the young Philadelphia Union striker was named the Save of the Week for Week 17, giving the New York Red Bulls goalkeeper his first such award this season.

Robles earned more than 54 percent of the vote for the save, easily topping a double-save from the Houston Dynamo’s Tall in a scoreless draw against Toronto FC.
