Robbie Rogers a "special guest" at LA Galaxy training on Tuesday

The LA Galaxy revealed on Tuesday that American midfielder Robbie Rogers was a "special guest" at training on Tuesday at the Home Depot Center.


The club's official Twitter account released a photo of Rogers participating in the Galaxy's training session and that was followed shortly thereafter by a Vine issued by Galaxy insider, Adam Serrano.


The 25-year-old Rogers announced he was retiring from professional soccer after revealing in February that he was gay. However, in a recent interview, he indicated that he might reach out to LA manager Bruce Arena about potentially working out and Arena extended him an open invitation.

An SI.com article on Monday indicated that Rogers may have been working out with the Galaxy to start the week, indicating that he was "driving to a Los Angeles Galaxy tryout" before calling NBA player Jason Collins, who revealed he was gay.
