Goal of the Matchday

Goal of the Week update: Can Toronto FC's Darel Russell hold on or will the Timbers Army swing the vote?

Goal of the Week nominees: Week 6

MLS Goal of the Week: Week 6

Darel Russell's first MLS goal had Goal of the Week written all over it, but Portland Timbers' fans might have something to say about it.

With fewer than 24 hours remaining to vote, Russell's right-footed blast holds a small lead over Ryan Johnson's blast past Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall. Meanwhile, Chris Wondolowski's near-post rocket remains in the running, and Claudio Bieler and Maicon Santos look out of it barring a miracle.

Can Russell hold onto that lead or will the Timbers Army band together to vote in one of their own? That's up to you -- the voter.

Make your pick in the poll at right, or via text message.

1. Darel Russell (TOR) 32%

2. Ryan Johnson (POR) 28%

3. Chris Wondolowski (SJ) 23%

4. Claudio Bieler (SKC) 11%

5. Maicon Santos (CHI) 6%
