On Wednesday 23-year-old US youth international Sal Zizzo will officially join an MLS club. Which club will be determined via a weighted lottery to be held at 5 p.m. ET. The results will be available on MLSsoccer.com.
Zizzo, who played for the USA at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, had been playing in Germany since 2007 until his contract with Hannover 96 expired this summer. His stay in the Bundesliga was marred by a left knee injury suffered during training in October 2009.
The California native played two years at UCLA before turning professional with Hannover 96 after the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in July 2007. Zizzo made his senior national team debut later that same summer on August 22 against Sweden.
MLS clubs can opt out of the lottery and if a team wins the lottery, it will not be eligible to participate in any other lotteries for the rest of the season. In the scenario that all MLS teams join the process, the percentage chances for winning rights to Zizzo are listed below based on each team’s record over their last 30 games:

13. Real Salt Lake: 1.23%
14. Columbus Crew: 0.74%
15. Los Angeles Galaxy: 0.37%
