Based on a true story, THE GAME OF THEIR LIVES follows the U.S. World Cup team who passionately proved that even an underdog has what it takes to be a winner. The story is based on the 1950 U.S. soccer team who, against all odds, beat world power England 1-0 in one of the biggest upsets in soccer history. Set in the small town of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, this story is about family traditions and passions that shaped the lives of the players who made up this team.

Directed by David Anspaugh with screenplay by Angelo Pizzo (the filmmakers responsible for the acclaimed sports dramas HOOSIERS and RUDY), THE GAME OF THEIR LIVES features a talented ensemble cast including Gerard Butler ("The Phantom Of The Opera," "Tomb Raider"), Wes Bentley ("American Beauty," "The Four Feathers"), Gavin Rossdale (lead singer of Bush, "Constantine"), Zachery Bryan ("Home Improvement"), Jimmy Jean-Louis ("The Bourne Identity") John Rhys-Davies ("Lord of The Rings," "The Princess Diaries"), and Patrick Stewart ("X-Men," "Star Trek: The Next Generation") .

IFC Films will release THE GAME OF THEIR LIVES in Los Angeles and select markets on Apr. 22 followed by a national roll-out. For more information on the film or to request an interview, please contact Sarah Beck at HNOW at 312-755-0888.
