Babblin' Brooks: Coming and going

Tony Meola

who is second to Meola in wins and saves for the Metros -- was signed by English powerhouse club Manchester United. Howard has made over 70 appearances for the Reds and is under contract with the team through 2009.

In closing, many players have come and gone since the MLS inception and the MetroStars have done nothing but try to improve their squad each and every year. Letting great players go is all a part of the game as the team needs to look ahead to set their sights on the the ultimate goal of an MLS Cup.

This brings us to my weekly trivia question, staying on the topic of former MetroStars:

What two former MetroStars players still lead the team in minutes played?

(Hint: They are both defenders who still play in Major League Soccer.)

If you have the answer as well as any questions or comments, feel free to e-mail me at steven.brooks@temple.edu and I will be happy to respond. If you do have an answer, please send some topics you would like to see discussed on MetroStars.com.

Also, make sure to catch the Metros at Giants Stadium on Sept. 3, when they host the Kasnas City Wizards at 7:30 p.m. ET.

That's all the babblin' I have time for this week. Go Metros!
