Morgan began his professional career at Saint Mirren FC in Scotland after he spent his youth career at Rangers Football Club. During the 2017/2018 season, he recorded 18 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. In two seasons with Saint Mirren, he totaled 118 appearances with 29 goals scored and 23 assists tallied. In July of 2018, he was sent on loan to Sunderland AFC, where he tallied two goals and four assists. Morgan played for Celtic FC in January of 2018, he made 31 appearances for the club, while registering two Champions League assists and two Europa League goals.


Morgan has received two senior appearances for Scotland, he made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Peru in 2018. The Scottish winger made his second appearance a few days later against Mexico.


The New York Red Bulls have acquired attacking midfielder Lewis Morgan from Inter Miami CF in exchange for $1,200,000 in General Allocation Money over two years on December 12, 2021.
