Nashville SC captain Dax McCarty suspended and fined for violent conduct
The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued seven fines and one suspension following Week 4 of the 2022 season.

Dax McCarty enters in his 18th MLS season and his fourth with Nashville SC. McCarty ranks second all-time in appearances in MLS history for outfield players with 439 games, and fourth in minutes played with 34,802. McCarty was named the first Captain in Nashville SC's MLS history and patrolled the midfield in 2020 as Nashville became the second expansion team in MLS history to win an Audi MLS Cup Playoff match for which he scored in a historic 3-0 victory over Inter Miami CF. In 2021, McCarty logged over 2,000 minutes for Nashville SC in route to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. McCarty is a two-time Supporters’ Shield winner while with the New York Red Bulls in 2013 and 2015, an MLS Best-XI player and a two-time MLS All-Star. At the international level McCarty has 13 caps for the U.S. MNT and is a 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup champion.
