Dax McCarty's arrival in Chicago coincided with a dramatic turnaround for the Fire after a tough 2016 season. With a savvy approach to both sides of the ball, the midfielder who helped right the ship in 2017 will look to continue propelling his side forward this year.
PROFESSIONAL: Started his career as a bench player for FC Dallas but over the course of his development became a vital part of the squad including starting their MLS Cup appearance. Spent a half season with DC United before being swapped for Dwayne De Rosario and heading to the New York Red Bulls.
INTERNATIONAL: 13 senior US caps, including captaining the squad in a friendly. Had a successful youth career as a member of the 2008 Beijing Olympic team, 2007 FIFA U-20 World team and was a member of the United States U-17 Residency Program.
COLLEGE: Had successful two-year career at the University of North Carolina including a second team All-American award.
