A hard-working, fearless Venezuelan international in the middle of the park, Casseres provides the pulse and heartbeat in the Red Bulls engine room and is quietly one of the top young players in MLS.
INTERNATIONAL: Earned his senior national team call-up on October 10, 2020 to compete with Venezuela in the 2020 World Cup Qualifiers and has appeared in three matches with two starts. He recorded his first start for Venezuela on October 14 against Paraguay. He previously featured for the Venezuelan U-20 team during the 2019 U-20 South American Championship, starting all four Group A matches and all five Group 1 matches. Since Sept. 7, 2019, he has played in 14 games with one assist in 1,020 minutes played across all competitions. He was a fixture for the Venezuelan U-17 squad before being called into camp for the U-20 side that finished as runners up at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He was also on the roster for the 2017 CONMEBOL Under-17 Football Championship, starting seven of the nine matches and scoring one goal.
OUTSIDE MLS: Cásseres Jr. has risen quickly through the ranks for club and country in his native Venezuela. At the age of 16, the midfielder made his professional debut for Deportivo La Guaira in the Venezuelan First Division. Cásseres, Jr., made 15 total appearances for the senior team and scored once. He made 26 appearances for Red Bulls II in the USL in 2018, scoring three goals.
