Career Summary

Durkin has been a part of United's academy since 2011 and represents the youngest Homegrown Player signing in D.C. United history. Captaining the US Under-17 team on a number of occasions, the teenager is looking to follow a spectacular 2018, which the holding midfielder start 16 of 23 games. 

INTERNATIONAL: The player’s impressive form earned him an invitation to U.S. Soccer’s residency program at IMG Academy in Bradenton in January 2016. Durkin solidified himself as a mainstay in the national team setup both in defense and central midfield. Durkin traveled to India with the U-17 U.S. Men’s National Team to compete in the 2016 AIFF (All Indian Football Federation) Cup. The then 16-year-old played in four of the five fixtures, helping guide the team to the finals where they fell 2-1 to the South Korean National Team in extra time. During 2017, Durkin scored two goals for the U-17 National Team, one against Jamaica in a group stage match at the Concacaf U-17 Championship and then again against India in the 2017 U-17 World Cup.
