Major League Soccer has announced that the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft will be held this Thursday, January 26, at 4:00 p.m. (ET) via conference call from MLS headquarters. Fans can follow the Supplemental Draft through the DraftTracker on the league's official website MLSnet.com.
The Crew owns three picks in the supplemental draft, the 3rd, 15th and 27th overall selections. Columbus traded its fourth round selection to the MetroStars in exchange for goalkeeper Jonny Walker.
The original order of the four-round MLS Supplemental Draft is the same as that of the MLS SuperDraft, which is determined from the reverse order of finish following the 2005 season. All players that were eligible and not selected in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, which was held on Friday, January 20, and additional players added by teams, will be eligible for selection in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft. Teams have until Wednesday, January 25, at 4:00 p.m. (ET) to submit players to be added to the eligible player list. The complete list of players will be available on Wednesday after 4:30 p.m. (ET) on MLSnet.com.
All MLS teams must be in roster and salary compliance on March 1, 2006 (18 Senior Roster, including 4 Senior International players, and 10 Developmental Roster).
The complete supplemental draft order can be seen at MLSnet.com. MLS will impose a trade moratorium beginning at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, January 25, through the conclusion of the Supplemental Draft.
2006 MLS SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT RULES
DRAFT ROUNDS: The Supplemental Draft will include four rounds and 48 overall selections.
SELECTION CLOCK: Teams are permitted three (3) minutes to make a selection during each round.
INTERMISSIONS: There will be a three (3) minute break between each round.
TIMEOUTS: Each team is permitted one (1) timeout. Timeouts are three (3) minutes in duration. Selections must be made immediately following the timeout. More than two (2) timeouts cannot be utilized consecutively.
FAILURE TO MAKE SELECTION IN DESIGNATED TIME: Teams that fail to make their selection in time must wait until the next selection is made, regardless of whether their choice is presented prior to the next team's decision. The team that was delinquent with its selection must immediately have its choice in hand following the selection of the team that follows. If not, the original team must again wait for the following selection.
CREWZERS TRYOUTS SET FOR FEB. 10-12 AT CREW STADIUM
The Crew announced today that the Crewzers professional dance team will hold their annual tryouts on Feb. 10-12 at the Crew Stadium Huntington Club.
Interested participants can register on-line at thecrewzers.com or on Friday, Feb. 10, from 5:30-6 p.m. at Crew Stadium. A $35 non-refundable registration fee is required.
Mandatory clinics are Friday, Feb. 10, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 11, from 1-3 p.m. An optional clinic is also available on Feb. 11 from 9 a.m.-Noon. The final audition is Sunday, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m.

PASION DE GOL SET FOR THURSDAY AT 5 P.M. ON RADIO SOL, 1550-AM
Crew Assistant Coach Eduardo Carvacho hosts Pasion de Gol (Passion for Goals), an hour-long soccer show every Thursday from 5-6 p.m. on Spanish radio station Radio Sol, 1550-AM. Radio Sol is also the Spanish radio play-by-play home for all Crew home games. The show is geared toward The Crew and Major League Soccer, as well as the numerous Hispanic players, coaches and administrators around the league and country. The schedule for February is not set yet do to The Crew's preseason schedule.
HEJDUK STARTS FOR U.S. IN 0-0 TIE VS. CANADA, MARTINO DOESN'T PLAY
Crew defender Frankie started and played the first half for the U.S. in a 0-0 tie vs. Canada on Sunday, Jan. 22, in San Diego. Crew midfielder Kyle Martino did not play.
Hejduk and Martino will remain in U.S. National Team camp as they continue to prepare for more games to take place in January and February.
A 30-man roster had been called into training camp on Jan. 4 at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif. The next game for the U.S. is vs. Norway on Jan. 29 at The Home Depot Center (5 p.m. ET, ESPN2). The U.S. will play Japan for the second time ever when they meet at SBC Park in San Francisco on Feb. 10. The USA's first match in the city in 26 years kicks off at 11 p.m. ET and will be shown on ESPN2.
The U.S. will play two games in March, including a visit to three-time World Cup champion Germany. The 2002 World Cup runners-up will host the U.S. on March 22 in Dortmund, Germany, one off 12 cities hosting matches in the tournament next summer. Kickoff at the Westfalenstadion is set for 8 p.m. in Germany (2 p.m. ET), and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN.
The USA was drawn into Group E for the World Cup along with the Czech Republic, Ghana, and Italy. The U.S. plays their opening match against the Czechs on June 12 in Gelsenkirchen at 12 p.m. ET. Five days later, the USA faces Italy in Kaiserslautern, and then finishes off group play against Ghana on June 22 in Nuremberg. The U.S. has chosen the city of Hamburg as their base of operations throughout the tournament.
CREW SEASON OPENER SET FOR APRIL 1 AND HOME OPENER ON APRIL 15
The Crew will open the 2006 MLS season on the road on Saturday, April 1, at Kansas City, and the home opener is set for Saturday, April 15, vs. the Eastern Conference rival Chicago Fire. The national television schedule has not yet been finalized, so the start times have not been set for either game. MLS kicks off its 11th season on Saturday, April 1. The complete 2006 schedule will be announced at a later date.
