Wizards Face Houston Dynamo Sunday in Rematch of 2007 Western Conference Championship Game
Kansas City continues its push toward the 2008 MLS Cup Playoffs with the second match of the season against their opponent in the 2007 Western Conference Championship Game. Kansas City and Houston, two-time defending MLS Cup Champions, tied 0-0 on April 12 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Sunday's match begins at 2 p.m. CT and will air live on TelaFutura (nationally in Spanish) and Metro Sports (locally in English).
Last season, Kansas City qualified for the playoffs as the 5th seeded team in the East and subsequently competed against Western Conference opponents during the playoffs. The Wizards defeated Chivas USA 1-0 in a two-game, total-goals series before losing 2-0 at Houston in a single-game semifinal. Houston went on to defeat the New England Revolution in penalty kicks for the second straight year to capture another MLS Cup crown. Houston currently leads the West with a record of 9-5-8 (35 pts).
