Ecuadorean international Walter Ayovi is mulling a summer move to MLS as his contract with Liga MX side Pachuca winds to a close.

The versatile veteran said as much in an interview with Radio La Deportiva, an outlet in his homeland, this week.

“I have a month and a half left on my contract with Pachuca; in truth I have hopes of playing in MLS,” said Ayovi, adding that he “would be happy” to end his career with any club in the United States that would have him once the Mexican Clausura ends next month.

He also noted that he's still open to a return to Ecuador's domestic league.

At age 35, the former Monterrey star's best years would appear to be behind him, but he continues to earn Ecuador call-ups and is poised to reach the 100-cap milestone for La Tri. Stocky and athletic, Ayovi can play in central midfield or as a left back.

Would he be a good choice to bolster the shorthanded midfield groups in San Jose or Orlando? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
