In the first of what could be a few MLS-Liga MX showdowns in the 2019 Concacaf Champions League, Sporting Kansas City make their return to the competition for the first time since 2016-17 to host Deportivo Toluca at Children’s Mercy Park Thursday at 8 pm ET.

While Toluca have had a makeover of late, Peter Vermes has tweaked his squad, which qualified courtesy of their 2017 U.S. Open Cup title. Replacing Ike Opara in the center of defense is Andreu Fontas, who could be the only newcomer in the starting XI Thursday night.
