Named Defender of the Year and to Best XI in 2017 after an injury-plagued start to his MLS career, the Wake Forest product earned his first call up to the national team in 2018. After another strong season with Sporting KC in 2018, he was the rock of a Loons defense that had struggled in previous years and earned a second Best XI selection.

INTERNATIONAL: Started all three matches at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt. Invited to camp with the US Olympic squad (U-23) in February 2012. Featured in 2018 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

COLLEGE: Played three seasons at Wake Forest before declaring for the 2010 SuperDraft. Two-time ACC defensive player of the year. Two-time All-American, and MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist in 2008.
